Literature Text
He climbed into the clouds
And breathed a little light
While a man whose eyes were shaded
Returned to the earth
Through cracks of hostile rock
What dreams of gold
What dreams of flesh
What dreams of blue skies
And children pining for life
With hunger
For bread and sugar
While the soldiers passed inside their steel cells
And never to know the lovely stone
The heavenly stone
The heavenly roofs
Above the lamas, the monks
Above the smoke
And breathed a little light
While a man whose eyes were shaded
Returned to the earth
Through cracks of hostile rock
What dreams of gold
What dreams of flesh
What dreams of blue skies
And children pining for life
With hunger
For bread and sugar
While the soldiers passed inside their steel cells
And never to know the lovely stone
The heavenly stone
The heavenly roofs
Above the lamas, the monks
Above the smoke
A poem for Tibet...
